Originally developed for use by community Podiatrists, Appointment Manager makes it easy to keep track of appointments and produce standard letters. It was designed to be general purpose and can be used in any where people and resources must be managed in "time slots" of any length
Benefits include:
- Very easy to use
- Secure login with encrypted password protection
- Quickly locate existing clients by any combination of Surname, Forename,
Address and any other relevant fields (e.g. Central Health Index Number)
- Can be integrated with other databases where existing client lists
exist.
- Already integrated with LCID (Local Community Information Database)
database for searching purposes. In this way, any LCID client is immediately
available to Appointment Manager. This saves on the entry of address
and other details
- When a client is located, instantly view appointment history and other
relevant notes. "Alarm Text" can be entered and is shown in
red
- Enter memo and other details immediately, as required
- Search for upcoming "Daily Diary Sheets" by any combination
of Date, Professional (person) and Facility (e.g. location/clinic) and
view the available time slots. Daily Diary Sheet is the name given to
a set of bookable slots.
- Book a single slot or multiple slots with one click of the mouse
- Unbook with a single mouse click
- Reserve slots for emergency use only
- Fully multi-user. As soon as a booking is made, it will appear on
everyone else's screen
- Easily change appointment details by "lifting" an appointment
from one Daily Diary and placing onto another
- Customisable time slot length (e.g. 10 min, 15 min, 35 min...)
- Variable Daily Diary length (e.g. 9:20am - 1:10pm, 12:30pm - 4:30pm
etc.) This allows for morning, afternoon and evening sessions to be
planned separately and for each morning session to be of different length,
if required
- Print Daily Diary Sheets
- Produce standard appointment letters (you need a word processing package
- e.g Microsoft Word installed on the user's computer for this
feature)
For the Techies...
- Zero deployment costs! If the user has Microsoft Internet Explorer
and can see the web server (e.g. on an intranet) he/she can use the
system (subject to security considerations)
- All processing is done at the web server. This ensures that even users
in remote sites with slow communications links and lower spec PCs will
enjoy similar performance to users with higher specification computers
- Network traffic is minimal. Thin-client architecture ensures low demands
on network bandwidth
- Appointment Manager runs on any Web Server that supports Microsoft
Active Server Pages (ASP) Version 2 or above. For example, Microsoft
Internet Information Server (IIS) 4.0 or later
- The Appointment Manager "back-end" database is Microsoft
Access. However, it is accessed via ODBC and so any ODBC-compliant
database will work just as well. For larger installations a product
such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle will provide superior
performance
- For full integration with LCID (or, indeed, any other database), the
web server needs to be able to "see" the relevant database
for periodic updates of client information
